A South German Baroque fayance sculpture of "Hope", 18th century White and blue glazed terracotta in the shape of a woman wearing laurel wreath and tunic. Pedestal marked as Hope in German letters ("Hoffnung"). Damages due to age, chippings, fire cracks. Smaller piece to the right hand missing. Probably formerly used as a crest for a noble fayance oven. Condition: III - Barock-Fayance-Figur der Hoffnung, süddeutsch, 18. Jhdt. Vollrund gearbeitete und weiß-blau glasierte Terracotta. Auf kleinem Podest stehende Dame mit Lorbeerkranz, in eine Tunika gewandet. Auf dem Sockel bezeichnet "Die Hoffnung". Altersschäden, bestoßen, Brandrisse. Attribut in der rechten Hand fehlt. Wohl vormals als Bekrönung eines herrschaftlichen Fayance-Ofens verwendet. Höhe 43 cm. Zustand: III -
