A rare Roman spatha blade, late Celtic - early Roman Empire, 2nd half of the 1st century B.C. Rare specimen of a late Celtic - early Roman sword blade with a widening of the 80 cm blade at the beginning of the lower third, ending in an extremely long and narrow point. The blade with a central ridge. The 15.5 cm long hilt hinge with end button. This sword, still rooted in late Celtic traditions, was used in the army of the early Roman Empire. Well preserved iron substance, expertly restored. Total length 95.5 cm. Provenance: From a private collection in South Germany. Seltene Sonderform einer Schwertklinge mit Verbreiterung der 80 cm langen Klinge zu Beginn des unteren Drittels, das in einer ausgesprochen langen und schmalen Spitze endet. Die Klinge mit deutlichem Mittelgrat. Die 15,5 cm lange Griffangel mit Abschlussknopf. Dieses noch spätkeltischen Traditionen verhaftete Schwert fand Verwendung in der Armee der frühen römischen Kaiserzeit. Gut erhaltene Eisensubstanz, fachmännisch restauriert. Gesamtlänge 95,5 cm.
