Seikosha, Extremely Rare and Preserved "Tensoku-Tokei" Pilot Watch, 49mm Case, circa 1940 Case: 49 mm, nickel plated metal, , three body, fixed thick bars between the lugs, bi-directional rotating bezel with red minute marks and white numerals, snap back with Japanese military markings, inner back numbered 57447 and marked "SKS", oversize onion winding crown, 57447 Dial: matte black, large radium Arabic numerals , white painted moon hands and arrow tipped center seconds Movement: signed Seikosha, nickel finished, wide straight line damaskeening, 9 jewels, straight line lever escapement Band: leather, metal buckle Signed: Seikosha This timepiece is an extremely rare and historically important piece of archive from World War II. Manufactured by Seikosha, it was initially produced for the wrist of "Kamikaze" fighter pilots to wear during action. Named the "Tensoku-Tokei", there was only very few examples made with even less examples still preserved today, The present example is in very impressive condition considering the history and purpose of this military timepiece.
