提要：钟以敬（1866-1916），字越生，又字申，号让先，别号窳龛，钱塘（今杭州）人。家业商，声色挥霍殆尽，贫无立锥。寄居古刹，衣食几不给。以敬少嗜金石，原我篆书，学吴天发神谶文，苍劲有致。印宗赵次闲（之琛）、陈秋堂（豫钟）、赵叔（之谦），均能得神似。褚德彝、汤勉斋劝其刻印，以给衣食。刻竹亦精雅，摹金文者更胜。刻印宗浙派者，当推巨擘。着《竹人续录、广印人传》
