玉璧是一种中央有穿孔的玉器，为我国传统的玉礼器之一。 商代玉璧大多是弦纹，春秋到战国时期主要有云纹、谷纹、蒲纹，有的还有蟠螭纹；到了唐宋元出现了凹吊蟠螭纹、乳钉纹、兽面纹、花鸟纹。汉代玉璧沿袭了战国的风格而又略有变化，玉质仍以白、青、碧玉为主，但壁的形体加大，有的直径达30直至50厘米以上，组合纹饰更为流行，有的还饰以吉祥文字。
