A rare and unusual late 19thC Indian costume miniature game, comprising a hand painted base card depicting a landscape scene with two Indian heads / faces, one above the other. With 9 hand painted illuminated gouache costume scenes on clear mica sheets with gilt highlights depicting various characters from daily life, to include a seated female musician, a man walking with a goat and monkey, a man with drums, a kneeling woman braiding her hair, a male scribe, a man in mughal dress, etc. The mica sheets are overlaid onto the base card to complete the image. Reminiscent of Regency paper dolls. Contained within a wooden box with a sliding lid. Each sheet approx. 4" x 3" Please Note - we do not make reference to the condition of lots within descriptions.
