Copy of Guernsey's The Star Newspaper Under Nazi Occupation January 31, 1942, Frank W. Falla, Acting Editor, 4 pages, small folio (16.75 in.), the front page full of "news" touting Hitler's brilliance and Germany's military prowess; inside pages with local announcements, including advertisements for German language films at local cinemas. The Star Acting Editor Frank Falla was a Guernsey native imprisoned for covertly spreading BBC news reports via GUNS (Guernsey Underground News Service). Falla survived his captivity and became a tenacious advocate for the rights of Germany's wartime victims. He died in 1983. Today, copies of The Star published under Falla are rather scarce.
