郭宗熙（1878-1934）字侗伯。一作桐伯，号臣庵，别号三焦山人。光绪进士。日本法政大学毕业。归国任翰林院庶吉士。1904年，清政府的颁布《奏定学堂章程》规定“各府必设中学堂一所”，长沙府设立了长沙府中学堂。首任监督彭青藜是老翰林，非常顽固，学生对他多不满。次年夏，学生列举彭的罪行向巡抚端方控诉，彭被撤职。改以郭宗熙为监督，郭因曾留学日本，思想较进步，所聘教员亦多贤俊，学生始安心读书。但次年郭便调职奉天。
