帝多爱茗茶，故茶具亦制作得十分精细。本品碗盖落于碗内，柔美的各色牡丹悠然而出，绿叶、褐枝衬托得花朵异常娇媚，盖壁亦然。底以矾红彩书“大清光绪年制”六字双行楷书款。此碗气息清新雅致，一改乾隆朝以来的繁缛风格。用笔精细，繁而不乱，色彩鲜艳，纹饰精美，釉水滋润，富有层次感。与慈禧大雅斋御瓷颇为相似，十分符合晚清慈禧太后的审美要求。
