累丝工艺又称“细金工艺”、“花丝工艺”，其源自北方，历史流长。是将金或银加工成丝，再通过盘曲、掐花、填丝、堆垒等手段制作金银首饰。其工艺之繁复，做工之精细，非一般制作方法所能比拟。远自唐宋期间，花丝工艺早已应用在当时妇女发饰上。至元代期间，更有专门花丝工匠专业生产，重视程度，尤其可见。
