此像为弥勒菩萨像，头戴五叶宝冠，发髻高挽，颊颐丰满，表情庄严，微微含笑，饰长耳坠，垂落肩头，与束发缯带的轻盈呼应，以增加其动感。双手于胸前施转法轮印，各牵莲枝，左肩莲蕾上有军持瓶，右肩上有法轮，二者同样也是弥勒的重要标志。弥勒佛像常见的姿势是垂足坐像，西方学者称之为西方坐式，以别于东方的盘足坐或跪坐式。在佛教诸神中，唯有弥勒佛为垂足坐，多坐于长凳、椅或宝座上。有时这种独特的坐式成为辩认此尊的唯一标志。此尊造像弥勒坐于束腰叠涩方台座上，后面有大背光，捶揲法制作，由卷西番莲纹和金翅鸟、六拏具图案构成，颇具装饰效果。整像制作精良，鎏金光灿，座背右藏文铭款，系为官造，殊为难得。
