Francis Helps RBA, British 1890-1972- Pan and Nymphs; pencil on paper, 64x50cm, (ARR) Provenance: Phillips Lisson Grove,London, 9 February 1990, lot 255, where purchased by the present owner. mounted and framed in an ebonised moulding frame with grey blue mount card, frame appears with some light scuffs but overall good condition. The sheet has not been examined out of the frame but appears to be hinged at the top as top left the remains of a tape hinge is visible in front of the sheet. The work is constructed on two adjoined sheets with the join and second sheet visible approximately one centimetre to the right side of the work just before the mount. The sheet is overall a little ruckled. The sheets have remains of pencil squaring visible beneath the work. There doesn't appear to be any real defects to the surface of the sheet or work itself. It appears in overall good original condition.
