Carlos Carnero, Uruguayan/French 1922-1980- Study of a woman reading; gouache, pastel and pencil, bears inscription to the reverse, 26x20cm (ARR) Note: Carnero studied under the artist André Lhote in 1940s Paris before moving to Fernand Léger's studio. Léger considered Carnero to be one of his finest pupils and made him responsible for his atelier, he continued this work even after Léger's death in 1955.
