AMENDMENT: Please note, the correct transcription of the handwritten label displayed on this lot should read 'This head dress I wore in the third act of the opera "Turandot" when I sang that opera for the first time in my career in Brescia (Italy) in 1926. Eva Turner'. An operatic gilt headdress with jabot pins, reputedly belonging to English soprano Eva Turner (1892-1990), mounted on a burgundy red ground reputedly taken from the Royal Box at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London, with two labels typed: "Hilary dear, Anne told me of your request. I feel very flattered that you are to have the head-dress framed and herewith I am sending you a card on which I have written the details. I do hope this is what you have in mind. With love and blessings.
