Features The present example of the reference 8171 is preserved in good original condition, with hard edges and thick lugs. The case back retains the original engravings of the Rolex coronet logo and the serial number. Often referred to as the "Padellone" (the Italian word for frying pan due to the oversized 38mm case, it was substantially larger than most of the other watches available at the time. The reference 8171, together with the ref 6062, is the only vintage triple calendar moon phase produced by Rolex making it one of the most coveted models by Rolex collectors.
