A bronze bowl mount comprising a sub-oval plaque with three piercings for attachment, one of which retains an attachment pin; integral horse head with exaggerated arched neck; the horse holds its ears erect and is presented with a full muzzle with mouth wide open in a 'whinnying' gesture; diagonal lines used to express the texture of the animal's mane; old inked collector's note to the reverse 'Near Linton / Cambs'.
