A matched pair of gold earrings, each a hook and discoid plaque with braided filigree outer band and applied rosette to the centre, later loop below and cell with pendant garnet cabochon. Cf. Marshall, F.H., Catalogue of the Jewellery, Greek, Etruscan and Roman, in the Department of Antiquities, British Museum, London, 1911, items 2532, 2377, for type.10.58 grams total, 51mm each (2"). Property of a London gentleman; formerly acquired before 1970.[2]
