8th-5th century BC. A white jasper cylinder seal with altar and winged disc, accompanied by a museum-quality impression and a copy of a typed and signed scholarly note issued by W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'Cylinder Seal of White Marble 21.5 x 9.5 mm. The design consists of the winged disc, a crescent on a pole, a rhomb, a fish, a cross, a quadruped with head turned backwards and a table with covering. The whole design is put between upper and lower rules. This is a seal from Syria, c. 800-500 B.C. It is based on Mesopotamian models but combines them in its own way. This seal is in very good condition.' 3.41 grams, 21mm (1").
