8th-4th century BC. A carved glass conical stamp seal depicting a warrior attacking an enemy, accompanied by a museum-quality impression and original typed and signed scholarly note by the late W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'Stamp seal of rock crystal, 17 x 17 x 23mm., a conoid. A standing warrior about to stab a fallen enemy. Mesopotamia or Syria, c. 700-300 B.C.' 8.12 grams, 23mm (1"). From a private collection of seals and amulets, the property of a Canadian gentleman living in London; from his father's collection formed in the late 1960s to 1980s; inventory number 109.
