款识：“两地但容明月共，一官争到此心清”。 上款：镜如。 说明：门形砚，石质细润，端石之天然纹理毕现。形制古雅规整，线条劲爽，砚池内凹，砚膛平坦。砚背起框，而为覆手，内光素无纹，仅以篆、行二体，书诗文并题。可见端石天然纹理。铭者吴大澂（1835-1902），字清卿，号恒轩、愙斋。江苏吴县人，同治七年进士，官至湖南巡抚。嗜金石，富收藏，精鉴别，着有《愙斋集古录》、《愙斋砖瓦录》、《古玉图考》等行世。其一生宦迹遍及大江南北，所到之处，搜罗金石，仿古拓碑，交游广阔。同期交往之师友如陈介祺、潘祖荫、王懿荣、吴重熹等，皆热衷此道，寄赠交换各自珍藏金石器物的拓片互通有无极为频繁。
