Dimensions: Height 2.25" Width: 6" Immaculate Gilt bronze trinket box with inlaid jade medallion covering from the Qing era. Discoidal trinket vessel with domed lid, topped with stunning hand carved jade medallion. Gilt bronze has been worked into an intricate design, depicting Fu-bats both in flight as well as in a hanging position. Fu can be translated to mean bat, prosperity, good fortune, and can even delineate happiness. Inner flange circumscribed around the containers lip allows for a perfect fitment of the covering. Raised gilt bronze retainer outlines the medallion keeping it centered on the casing. Medallion is smooth to the touch with a milk-white coloration, adorned with a finely carved image of intertwining branches and vines. Trinket box rests atop an elaborately carved wooden stand that circumscribes the base. Mark on under-base, incised four script -KaiShu- characters within square border, Made in The Years of Qianlong Reign Period.
