Dimensions: 10.25in H x 7in W x 7in D Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Jihong red monochrome bottle vase. The porcelain potted in shape vase, globular lower oval body, tapered gracefully toward straight tall neck, slightly flaring opening mouth rim, raised on slightly short a circle splayed foot base. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in Jihong design porcelain. Masterfully covered in an even coat of a bright red glaze which terminates at the base to reveal the pure white underglaze. The bright red glazed turning red due to its copper content when fired in a reducing atmosphere. Closely copying the Ming dynasty xianhong glaze. The glaze creates a mottled effect around the rim which is likened unto the blushing of human skin. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy.
