A panel of a Chinese dragon robe with a ranking badge of a duck dating from the 19th century. The robe features eight auspicious birds and bats flying among ruyi clouds with a wave and rock motif at the bottom. Depictions of peaches and blossoms grow around the edges of the robe. The ranking badge is made of gold and silver thread. The whole panel is matted and framed. Dimensions are: 40 3/4 inches tall X 24 1/2 inches wide, 103.5 cm X 62.2 cm, while the frame measures 51 5/8 inches tall X 31 3/4 inches wide, 131.1 cm X 80.6 cm. All measurements are approximate.
