Ancient Roman Aubergine Glass Drinking Vessel c.1st-4th century AD. Size 3 1/2 inches high. Rare Deep aubergine-violet color glass drinking vessel, having an overall white paste-glass feather pattern. Two opposing applied rigaree type handles near the base and a single applied rigaree-lug handle equidistant between the two opposing handles, rolled rim. Repaired from approximately two or three original pieces with scattered restoration to the feathered pattern, a restored 1” area near the base and some restoration to the base rim. A very rare type.
