An English turned lignum vitae pricket candlestick, 17th century, the dished circular top with moulded rim above a baluster-turned stem on spreading circular base, 13.5cm high excluding iron pricket Provenance: Christies, South Kensington, Seward Kennedy’s Collection of Curiosities, 22 November 2016, lot 247 A small shrinkage crack to the moulded rim. Hairline fractures in one or two other places. Good, rich patina with wear and tear consistent with age and use.
