A Swedish burr birch kallskål, 17th/18th century, of typical form, with bone mounts, twin scroll handles and three feet, the cover with ink inscription Donné par le Roi Charles XV a Ulriksdal VAISSELLE DE CAMPAGNE DE GUSTAVE ADOLPHE 12 Aut 1863, 19cm high, 31 cm wide Note: The inscription on the current lot refers to Charles XV, King of Sweden and Norway from 1859-1872. Ulricksdal is the location of a royal palace, north of Stockholm, acquired in 1856 by Prince Charles, later King Charles XV. During his reign the palace was used as his preferred summer residence and furnished extensively with antiques. The mention of Gustave Adolphe perhaps refers to Gustav IV Adolph, King of Sweden from 1792-1809. Please refer to department for condition report
