A small, painted HaMelech Esther scroll, megillah, in a turquoise-decorated silver case, probably late 19th century, stamped with indistinct 13 standard mark, the body of the case engraved with a scene depicting Esther beseeching King Ahasuerus on behalf of her people, the signs of the Zodiac engraved above and below, both the conical top and scroll guard decorated with turquoise cabochons, the parchment with tiny Hebrew Ashkenazi script illuminated with floral decoration in blue, pink and gold, 26 lines to a column, 5.7m, case length (inc. winder) 16.6cm.
