A miniature silver niello cased HaMelech Esther scroll, megillah, mounted with gold and gemstones, probably French or Austrian, late 19th/early 20th century, the niello-decorated cylindrical body set with rubies and a cabochon emerald between two gold mounts (possibly later additions), one depicting Mordecai mounted on a horse being led by Haman and the other engraved with Hebrew inscription reading 'Megillat Esther', the case capped with with a silver bird finial, the parchment with 19 lines to a column, depth 4.8cm, case length 14cm.
