An early 20th century gold, emerald and diamond pill box, with silver and silver-gilt mounted closed-set square-cut emerald and lasque diamond cover, possibly later adapted from a brooch, to a gold box with engraved decoration, probably Italian, width 2.8cm Please refer to department for condition report Overall condition good with no obvious damage or repairs. The colour of the emerald is difficult to determine as it is closed-set. There are no obvious chips to the emerald however it is quite significantly included with typical fracture features. The diamonds are bright however some are chipped at the edges. The box is neat with nice snug fitting cover and hinges and the box closes soundly and is tight. engraving is crisp with some moderate signs of wear. some general fine scratches to the base. gross weight, 28g
