A pair of Meissen custard cups with covers, c. 1763-44, the covers with blue tinted rose and gilt branch finial, leading to a moulded lattice band at the upper body, the handles with similar blue tint and gilding, the whole decorated with insects and birds on a branch motifs, each cup with blue underglaze 'Dot Period' crossed swords mark, 5cm diameter, 7.5cm high overall (2) The cover of one cup has two minor chips to the rim (one of which bears evidence of restoration), there is a small crack to the rim of one cup, there are losses to some petals of the rose finials, and there is wear to the gilding throughout commensurate with age.
