A Louis XV Beauvais tapestry, mid 18th century, depicting pastoral figures with fruit, a building beyond and goats in the foreground, borders reduced, in a later pink-painted and parcel-gilt wood frame, 216 x 157.5 cm The borders are reduced and the tapestry has been later mounted in a pink frame. Some drying out and sunfading. Small areas where the threads have split. Lacking borders and with a blue slip, which is folded over at the top and bottom. The tapestry has possibly been reduced in height, but it is difficult to tell as it has been stitched at both top and bottom. The tapestry has been backed with linen and attached onto a pine stretcher with poppers sewn to the lining and therefore removable from the stretcher. In good decorative order.
