此瓶唇口，细直颈，丰肩，圆腹下渐敛收。足脊露胎，修胎工致，显坚实致密的胎体。通体施哥釉，釉层厚薄适中，釉面遍布细碎的开片，金丝铁线自然交织，华美悦目，予人极好的视觉感受。 梅瓶在宋代被称为“经瓶”，宋代皇帝设讲经制度，定期请大学士等熟悉四书五经的官员任讲官，设讲筵，每次讲经结束后，皇帝总要设宴款待执行讲官及参与这一活动的众官员，装酒的瓶子，就是这种梅瓶。梅瓶的形制在明清时期已逐步定型，成为官窑的固定品种。
