拍品取竹为材，直筒形制，下承矮足，做工考究。器身以高浮雕、深雕刀法饰文会图，山石崚嶒，树木蓊郁，筒身共雕饰十一个人物，环以松树，写意如画。高士或畅谈，或题诗，或赏画，姿态各异，形象生动。整体纹饰雕刻精细入微，布局满密考究，刀工细腻劲道，或大开大阖，或精雕细琢，所用刀法娴熟老练，镂刻处或深挖直削，或层层相继，立体感十足，神游其间如徜徉书画之中，艺术水平高超。笔筒包浆苍润雅洁，品相上佳，颇为难得，是不可多得之案头佳供，颇可襄助文思。拍品装饰风格、布局、雕饰技法及竹材质地、皮色均与纽约大都会博物馆藏清康熙竹雕文会图笔筒相类，为同时期嘉定派竹雕文房佳作精品，可资比较。
