CHINESE UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND COPPER-RED PORCELAIN WATER DROPPER, KANGXI PERIOD, 17th CENTURY Modelled as an open lotus bowl in underglaze blue attached to a lotus pod with copper-red detailing, the interior of the bowl affixed a moulded shell. Originally thought to be Qianlong period but similar water droppers have been dated to the Kangxi period (1662-1722). 12cm length. Reference: A similar example dated 17th century, see The Baur Collection, J. Ayers, the catalogue, illustrated vol. II, no. A226 and also, The Collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, object number AK-RAK-1972 3. Provenance: C.Y.TSE ANTIQUES & COLLECTIBLES, Hong Kong.
