A George III mahogany square cellarette, with carrying handle to either side and raised on tapered fluted legs of square section terminating in castors. Width 42.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cellarette top has an almost full width stress fracture and numerous old water and liquid marks. There has been a handle at some point, evidenced by two pegged holes. The lid frieze is in generally good condition all round. The bottom left hand corner beaded edge has a small loss. The interior is not fitted. The front panel has various scuffs and scratches. Both side panels are in good order as are the brass handles which seem to be later black painted. The rear panel is in good condition. The frieze beneath the bottom moulding has some minor stress fractures and a significant proportion of the front bottom edge moulding is missing as well as the complete left hand bottom edge moulding. The four legs are sound and secure with only minor nibbles. The castors appear to be original and are in good condition. The piece is structurally very solid with no loose joints. Height 76.5 cm, width and depth 42.5 cm.
