鼓凳以红木为材，形状似鼓，使用灵活，为可以随意陈设的家具。圆形座面上镶嵌云石，云石纹理氤氲，富于变化，插肩榫结构，面下与托泥之间由弧形木连接，形成海棠形开光，模仿藤墩，造型玲珑别致。托泥下承四如意足，匠师通常称之为“如意担子”，亦是常见的坐墩样式。红木鼓凳成对保存，榫卯考究，制作难度大。造型圆润饱满，气质秀美。
