Albert Francis King was born in 1854 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was described by some critics as Pittsburgh's primary still-life painter of the 19th century. Dimensions are: sight, 16 1/2 inches x 13 1/2 inches (41.9 cm x 34.3 cm), overall, 21 5/8 inches x 18 5/8 inches (54.9 cm x 47.3 cm). All measurements are approximate. Condition: Untouched and never removed from the frame. Frame has some crazing to gesso and some edge chips. Provenance: This painting as never been offered for sale since new. Purchased by an ancestor of the consignor who was a well-to-do resident of Pittsburgh at the turn of the 19th/20 century.
