Lacquer and gilt decorated box with gilt embellished lid. Kamon in gilt on all sides of the box lid and edges of base and lid. Dimensions: 2 3/4 inches tall X 11 inches wide X 3 7/8 inches deep; 7 cm tall X 28 cm wide X 9.8 cm deep. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Cracking and separating of wood in corners of lid. Minor edge chips to cover and base. Base has crack in floor of box. Provenance: From a Connecticut gentleman's collection.
