Comprising a large and impressive porcelain urn of classical form, the body in royal blue with gilt banding, the front with gilt cartouche depicting a hand-painted portrait of a young man after the painting by Raphael. The verso with cartouche depicting attributes of the arts and the handles modelled as seated maidens in classical attire holding each a gilt and green wreath. Resting on a polychrome carved wood base and with later finial, very likely once utilized as a lamp. Probably old Paris. Overall height 29 inches (74 cm).
