A Chinese blue glazed dragon pattern porcelain bowl
Ming dynasty, Wanli period
The shape of this bowl is regular, the bowl has an open arc wall, a lower supporting ring, the whole body is decorated with blue glaze, and the dragon pattern is darkly carved, giving a fresh feeling. The glaze color is deep and pure, the glaze is smooth and plump, does not flow or crack, the color tone is uniform, and the color is relatively stable. Thick texture, like a blue gem, pleasing to the eye, simple and generous.
PROVENANCE:From The Estate of Garold G. Darty(1930-2019) of Bear, DE. Born in Townsend, DE on June 29, 1930, Garold was a life-long Delaware resident. He served in the U. S. Army National Guard from 1948 until 1954. He worked as a surveyor for Delaware Dept. of Transportation for 37 years, from 1954 until retiring in 1991. A devoted family man, he especially loved family gatherings and crab feasts. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, working in his yard, garden, and home. He was a faithful Phillies and NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed traveling and sight-seeing all across the country and accomplished his goal of visiting 48 of the 50 states. Bud was a member of The United Methodist Church, Georgetown, where he served as an usher and enjoyed the fellowship of his church family.
