鹿角别名斑龙角，为梅花鹿或马鹿已骨化的老角。此如意即以鹿角制成，呈一枝含苞欲放的荷花状。如意头不甚规整，如意柄曲折扭转，上有数个角根突起。整只如意色泽沉黄，外壳龟裂，形成变化多样的肌理，极富自然之态。置之于文房案几之中品赏，别有韵味。清代多用茜色工艺对竹木牙角器作装饰处理，本品即为一例，采用天然染料对材料进行染色，来表现并突出主题。茜色有单色和多色之别，此件作品即属单色茜色。鹿角整体观之，草绿颜色有深浅浓淡，成晕染效果，富有层次感。器物随形而作，不刻意雕琢以留天然趣味，时代气息扑面而来。
