孔雀绿釉是以铜为着色剂的一种低温釉，因呈色碧翠亮丽，恰似孔雀尾羽而得名，始烧于金元时期的磁州窑。拍品狮子通体施孔雀绿釉，神情威武，头大脸阔，鼻孔微张，龇嘴含舌，毛发卷曲有致，镌刻精细，流畅自然。双狮一公一母，皆颈披莲纹绣带，系铃铛，四肢劲健，饰螺旋纹，公狮脚踏绣球，母狮脚踏小狮，生动传神，威猛庄严。两狮顾盼相望，镌刻写实，神态活现。因「狮」与「事」、「嗣」谐音，所以历史中常以象征着「事事如意」的双狮并行，古代的官衙庙堂、豪门巨宅大门前，都摆放一对石狮子用以镇宅护卫。古人又以大狮小狮谐称「太师少师」，祈愿荣登三公高位，官运亨通。
