Geoffrey Baxter (British 1922-1995), a Whitefriars 'Glacier' decanter and stopper c.1969 Of shouldered square section and with stopper, 27 cm high; together with William Wilson designed bowl in gold-amber with lobed base, c.1954, 22 cm diameter; and a 'diamond mould' bowl, 21.5 cm diameter, and a small footed bowl, 14.6 cm diameter, both attributed to Powells; together with a set of 5 smoky glass tumblers, one with Whitefriars and Design Centre label, 12.5 cm high (9) Edited by Lesley Jackson, ‘Whitefriars Glass – the Art of James Powell & Sons’, Richard Dennis, Somerset, 1996, p. 91, fig 235 similar decanter illustrated; p.131, Pl 134, similar Wilson bowl illustrated) Decanter: engraved 5 on neck and stopper; some tiny nicks to shoulder of stopper. A couple of open bubbles on the rim of the decanter but not damage as this is how it was made. Light natural wear. Wilson bowl: small chip and a bruise to two of the lobed feet; quite heavy wear and scratches to interior and base and on rim. Diamond bowl: a couple of inclusions evident on the inside. Wear and scratches to interior and base. Small bowl with foot: light natural wear. Glasses: light natural wear.
