John Lockwood Kipling (1837 - 1911), father of Rudyard Kipling toured the northern provinces of India over several year, documenting processes of local craftsmen and was the Principal of The Mayo School of Art in Lahore. This group formed part of his personal collection Most pieces have minor glaze or paint chips, the largest of the 3 pale blue plates has a large chip on the rim but no other serious condition problems
