A George III mahogany desk, circa 1780, the crossbanded top above an arrangement of drawers around a kneehole cupboard, 76cm high, 135cm wide, 50cm deep, together with a George III mahogany armchair, late 18th century, with drop-in seat, 96cm high Provenance: Berwick House, Shropshire Condition Report: The desk: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions, consistent with age and use, Some colour variation overall, some areas with marks and staining, The rear with later applied fabric, this appears to have been used in the centre of a room previously, originally designed to sit against a wall. The handles appear to be original, there are no keys present to operate any locks but all elements are open at time of report -there is a key stuck in one bottom drawer, this does not operate the lock and would probably need removing - Dreweatts have tried gently pulling but not with any great pressure. The chair: Overall solid and stable, the seat re-upholstered, Dreweatts cannot guarantee the originality of any elements beneath the upholstery Condition Report Disclaimer
