A Victorian walnut veneered letter box, c1870, the hinged figured top with engraved strapwork mounts, one applied ivory panel inscribed Answered, the other Unanswered, the front with conforming strapwork mount, green baize lined to the interior, 10cm h; 23 x 12cm Veneer to top with some damp staining, back right corner with minor losses, small piece of veneer re-stuck, faults to veneer around right hand hinge at back, other scratches, general abrasions consistent with age
