A pair of Chinese famille rose vases and covers, c.1870, each of rectangular form, painted in the wushuangpu style with renowned historical figures, inscriptions of their stories above, surrounded by pheasants, foliage, peaches, pomegranates and finger citrons, the handles with two deities on a lotus stand, each domed cover similarly decorated with Li Bai seated on top drinking wine, 54.5 and 55cm high (4) 清约1870年 粉彩无双谱连盖瓶 一对 Condition report: One with restoration to neck, base and one handle. The other one with rim and neck restored. Both vases slightly off centre, enamel losses. Both covers restored. One cover with a glaze chip to edge and minute chips to cup of finial, a small chip to rim fitting.
