明清文人作品中“四爱图”（陶渊明爱菊、周敦颐爱莲、王羲之爱鹅、林和靖爱鹤）是常被描绘的题材。此景即为四爱图之一“羲之爱鹅”。 整作长方形，中央椭圆形镂空开框，周边减底浮雕“羲之爱鹅”图，巨石掩映之处，老梅枝干韧劲，蜿蜒而出，生出枝杈，梅花或绽放，或含苞，又有劲竹随风摇曳，清雅之气显露无余，长桥之上，羲之身着广袖长袍，仙风道骨，望向河间抓鹅之小童。画面布局严整有序，写实精道，人物神态动态亦是栩栩如生，可见制者之功力。
