Here’s a Virginia decorated stoneware jar attributed to Stephen Sweeney of Henrico County, VA. Decorated on both the front and back with Sweeney’s notable cloud-shaped floral motif. Additional cobalt highlights both handle terminals. In very good condition, with only chips to both handles as pictured. Otherwise no cracks or hairlines, and essentially in as made condition. Circa 1840-1860. Measures 12 inches tall.
