Aaron Gunn Pyle (1903 - 1972) An untitled Barnyard Scene. The full and colorful composition is signed lower right. Aaron Pyle was a student and close friend of Tom and Rita Benton who actively promoted his works. The majority of his life he worked the family farm in Chappell Nebraska, even forgoing a show the Bentons arranged of his works so he could keep up with his chores. For this reason, Benton dubbed him the Nebraska regionalist, saying Pyle was 'a true regionalist, perhaps closer to being a real one than any of the rest of us, for he lived continually with his subjects.' Sight size measures 6 x 7.5 with a framed size of 12.5 x 14.25 inches. We happily provide seamless in-house packing and shipping services on nearly everything we sell.
